The Dalles Dam North Shore Fishway Hydroelectric Project

The North Shore Hydroelectric Project is located on the Columbia River near The Dalles, Oregon.  The dam and power plant are located on the Washington side of the Oregon/Washington border there.  The powerhouse accommodates one 4.9 MW vertical Francis turbine and generator unit supplied by HTE Engineering’s manufacturing team.

The project came online and began producing power in May of 1991, and since then has produced over 630,300 MWh of power.

The hydraulic capacity at this site is 800 cubic feet per second, and the design head is 77 feet.
